Mortgage Loan Servicers
As of April 24, 2013
Effective July 1, 2009, Banking Law required certain persons engaged in the business of servicing residential mortgages in New York State to register with the Superintendent. The regulations permit a transitional period for mortgage loan servicers to continue operating while their application for registration is reviewed. Thus, a mortgage loan servicer doing business in New York on June 30, 2009 that filed an application for registration by July 31, 2009 is deemed to be in compliance with the registration requirements of New York law until it is notified by the Superintendent that its application has been denied.
