Alert: Holocaust Claims Fund Letter Hoax
Please be advised that a letter entitled "Transfer of Funds - Holocaust Claims" and signed by Larry Dubali, Senior Partner, of Tenure Consulting is being circulated among the Holocaust survivor community. In this letter Mr. Dubali claims to be a "consultant to Independent Committee of Eminent Persons, Switzerland" and that "[a] dormant account... with a credit balance of $75,000,000.00 (Seventy-Five million US dollars) plus accumulated interest" was discovered by him. The letter further states that he has "all secret details and necessary contacts for claim of the funds." According to Mr. Dubali "[t]he Holocaust Claims Processing Office has put the funds in Escrow awaiting submission of valid claims for necessary disbursement."
THIS LETTER IS A HOAX.
This is a clear attempt to defraud the Holocaust survivor community. Please do not respond to the letter.
Moreover, the Independent Committee of Eminent Persons (ICEP), also known as the Volcker Commission, is no longer active and the Claims Resolution Tribunal (CRT), established by the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, to administer the Swiss bank class action settlement, is no longer operational. For more information about these inactive organizations please visit www.crt-ii.org.
The Holocaust Claims Processing Office (HCPO) of the New York State Department of Financial services was established in 1997 to assist Holocaust victims worldwide, free of charge, with a myriad of restitution claims. The HCPO in no way disburses or handles funds intended for compensation.
Anyone who believes they may have legitimate claims to a Holocaust-era bank account, artwork or insurance policy can make an inquiry via our Holocaust Claims Processing Office.
