Who Can be Covered

Who can be covered under a Healthy NY policy depends on whether you have coverage as an individual or a sole proprietor.

Individuals

If you have Healthy NY as an individual, you may cover:

You may cover children even if they do not live in the household.  You may also cover stepchildren.

You may also purchase an “Age 29” rider to cover eligible children until they turn 30.  Contact your insurance company for more information regarding eligibility and the cost of the rider.

Sole Proprietors

If you have Healthy NY as a sole proprietor, you may cover:

You may cover children even if the children do not live in the household. You may also cover stepchildren.

You may also purchase an “Age 29” rider to extend the age of dependency under the policy. If you purchase this rider, you can cover certain eligible children through the age of 29. Contact your insurance company for more information regarding eligibility and the cost of the rider.
