DEPARTMENT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON
PREFERRED CARE PROPOSED RATE INCREASE
The New York State Insurance Department has scheduled a public hearing March 3rd in Rochester to consider an application for subscriber rate changes by Rochester Area Health Maintenance Organization, d/b/a/ Preferred Care.
The hearings will be held on the following date and time:

Preferred Care submitted an application for a rate adjustment pursuant to Section 4308 (c), which requires the Superintendent of Insurance to make a determination as to whether the proposed rates should be approved as submitted, or if they should be modified or denied. Section 4308 (c) also requires that a public hearing be held to solicit comments from subscribers.
As an aid to the public, the Plan is making available a summary of facts supporting its application available. A copy may be obtained from the Plans office or from the Insurance Department.
A copy of the complete subscriber rate increase application may be examined at the Plans offices at 259 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607 and at the offices of the Insurance Department:

Those unable to attend the hearing may submit written statements for inclusion in the official record within 10 days of the hearing date to the Public Affairs & Research Bureau at the Insurance Departments New York City Office. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Department will provide a reasonable accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter, a qualified reader, etc., at no charge to any covered individual wishing to attend or testify at the hearing when such a request is made at least seven days before the hearing.
