      Superintendent of Insurance Neil D. Levin today announced the appointment of Susan Skaling Donnellan as Deputy General Counsel of the Insurance Department. Ms. Donnellan assumes her duties at the Insurance Department immediately.

        Ms. Donnellan joins the Department from the Life Insurance Council of New York (LICONY) where she served as Associate General Counsel. In that capacity, she was extensively involved in cutting edge issues impacting the industry. Previously Ms. Donnellan was employed at Swiss Re America Corporation for 8 years in various positions in the Corporate Law Department, most recently serving as Counsel and Secretary of Swiss Re Life Company America.

        "We welcome Susan to the Department as Deputy General Counsel. Susan brings to the Department over a decade of experience in the insurance industry. I look forward to working with her on legal and policy issues involving the Department," said Levin.

        Ms. Donnellan received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
