DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES WEEKEND HOURS FOR LIVERY DRIVERS TO OBTAIN COVERAGE

Livery Drivers Whose Coverage With Highlands Insurance Company Was Cancelled Can Secure
Insurance Coverage
The New York State Insurance Department announced that in an effort to assist livery drivers whose policies were cancelled by Highlands Insurance Company as of July 1, 2001, two insurers have been identified and will accept applications from their approved brokers. The Insurance Department urges the affected livery drivers to contact American Transit and Hereford approved brokers to obtain the necessary coverage.
American Transit is open for processing of submissions by approved American Transit producers for date stamping, for coverage to take effect 12:01 AM July 1, 2001. They are open late tonight and all day tomorrow, June 30th. The location is as follows: 275 Seventh Avenue, 2nd Floor, New York, New York.
In addition, all day tomorrow, June 30th, Hereford Insurance Company will accept faxed applications from the following approved Hereford producers:
