SUPERINTENDENT SERIO AND DEPARTMENT SPECIALISTS TO ATTEND
GOVERNORS CAPITAL FOR A DAY IN BATAVIA
Insurance Department Moves to Western New York on July 25th
Superintendent Gregory V. Serio today announced that the New York State Insurance Department will be participating in Governor Patakis new Capital For a Day initiative, which is designed to bring government closer to the people of New York. Capital For A Day will be held on Wednesday, July 25, when the Governor and many New York State agencies, including the Insurance Department bring the operation of State government to the city of Batavia in Western New York.
"I look forward to meeting the citizens of Batavia and Genesee County and hope they take advantage of the opportunity to discover the valuable insurance information that will be available at our information booth and at our consumer forums," said Serio.
Capital For A Day will be held at Genesee Community College. The Departments information booth will be located in Building C. The special insurance forums will be held in the Conable Technology Building, Room 124. The two special forums include:
1-2pm Healthy NY Forum
Department Representatives will hold a forum to discuss this new program and answer questions about Healthy NY which makes affordable health insurance benefits accessible for hundreds of thousands of uninsured small businesses and individual New Yorkers.
2-3pm Basic Insurance Information Forum
Department Representatives will hold a forum to discuss:
- How to Obtain Health Insurance Coverage
- Tips on Purchasing Automobile and Homeowners Insurance
- Advice on Life Insurance Policies
- How to File a Claim
- How the Department can Assist Consumers
Insurance Department specialists will also be staffing an information booth to provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions concerning health, life, automobile and homeowners insurance, obtain publications and brochures, and submit consumer complaints. In addition, the booth will be equipped with a computer for access to our Web site.
