DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVES AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS INSURANCE COVERAGE OPTIONS FOR EMPLOYEES OF GARDEN WAY
Superintendent of Insurance Gregory V. Serio today announced that representatives from the Departments Consumer Services Bureau will be participating in a Job Fair to explain insurance options for employees of Garden Way. Last month, the Troy-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It plans to let go of its 550 workers by the end of September.
The Job Fair will be held, Thursday, September 6th from 10am-4pm in the Garden Way employee cafeteria at 102nd Street and 9th Avenue in Troy NY.
In an effort to continue to ensure that employees maintain proper insurance coverage, Department representatives will be attending this Job Fair to discuss insurance options and answer related questions. A representative from the Departments Health Bureau will be available to discuss the Healthy NY program.
The Job Fair, sponsored by the Rensselaer County Office for Employment and Training, will be staffed by many local employers offering employment opportunities for Garden Way employees. In addition, the Rensselaer County Department of Social Services will be attending to provide information on Medicaid, Family Health Plus and Child Health Plus.
