MEDIA ADVISORY: INSURANCE DEPARTMENT TO ASSIST BROOKLYN RESIDENTS
New York State Insurance Department personnel will be available in Brooklyn to assist residents who experienced property damage in Tuesday’s tornado. Department personnel will be available to answer inquiries regarding insurance policies and coverage, as well as to assist with insurance-related complaints.
Department staff will be present at the Bay Ridge Community Service Center, 6935 Fourth Ave. at the following times:
· Friday, Aug. 10, 1-4 p.m.· Saturday, Aug. 11, 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.
· Monday, Aug. 13, 1- 4 p.m.
In addition to the on-site support, residents seeking assistance on insurance questions may also contact the Department’s Consumer Services Bureau at 1-800-342-3736 or 212-480-6400 on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
