BRING YOUR INSURANCE QUESTIONS TO THE ERIE COUNTY FAIR

Visitors to the Erie County Fair will be able to see if they are eligible for affordable New York State-sponsored health insurance and have other insurance questions answered by visiting the New York State Insurance Department’s information booth.

Consumer services specialists will staff the information booth in the International Agri-Center Building on the Hamburg Fairgrounds from Wednesday, Aug. 6 through Sunday, Aug. 17.

“Educated consumers make wise insurance choices and the Insurance Department wants to help make all New Yorkers educated insurance consumers. We hope visitors to the fair take an opportunity to stop by the Insurance Department’s booth to take advantage of the information and advice that is available,” said Insurance Superintendent Eric Dinallo.

The information booth will feature a computer with internet access to the HealthyNY website where consumers will be able to use a new interactive screening tool to see if they are eligible for the program, which provides an affordable, streamlined health insurance benefits package to eligible uninsured working individuals, sole proprietors and employers of 50 or fewer people.

A computer CD with the HealthyNY interactive screening tool, as well as other consumer-related insurance information, will also be available at no charge.
