All Life, Accident & Health Renewals Processed By Deadline With Help Of On-Line Technology

Superintendent of Insurance Gregory V. Serio today announced that the Department has completed all individual life and accident and health license renewals. The new on-line technology that enabled agents to complete applications for license renewals over the internet as well as a number of improvements and efficiencies made the completion of all these renewals possible by June 30th.

"Electronic licensing allows the Department to improve customer service by providing renewals within minutes and hours not days or months. Over 2,000 renewal applications came in just weeks before the deadline and were completed in a day or two using this new capability," said Serio. "This is an important milestone for the Department as we continue to focus on improving customer service."

The Department’s licensing bureau processed every renewal application received by the deadline of June 30th. Those license renewals received after June 30th, but post-marked by this date have also been processed. The new electronic licensing allowed agents to complete the Department’s application for license renewal on-line in a secure, encrypted environment. Electronic licensing saves both time and money while decreasing the number of incomplete applications submitted.

"The Department looks forward to expanding on this first phase of on-line license renewals for individual life and accident and health, by enabling all agents and brokers to renew their licenses via the internet," added Serio.
