The following information is for those seeking help with a technical problem with the DFS Portal or with creating a DFS Portal account. If you need to contact DFS about something else, like DFS ID, DFS Connect, a consumer complaint or a legal question visit our Contact Us page to learn how.
Browsers and Blockers
When using a DFS app or portal:
- Use a supported browser: The latest version, plus one previous version, of Edge, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari are supported.
- Disable “Pop-up Blockers” in your browser settings before using DFS portal.
- Note Maintenance: Applications may be unavailable from 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. for daily maintenance.
- Some DFS apps may not be compatible with certain smart phones and tablets.
Passwords and DFS ID
Note: Regulated entities must, with few exceptions, log in to DFS Portal using DFS ID.
The only exceptions that may use Legacy Portal Login are the following apps and filings:
- Annual SIU Report
- ATM Certification Filings
- Consumer Credit Reporting Agency Registration
- FCMS: Reporting Suspect Claims & Transactions
- Paid Family Leave Carrier Reporting
- Terrorism Risk Insurance Act System
If you used the Legacy login for an exempted application, and are looking for something else and don't see it listed, log out of Portal and log back in with DFS ID.
Legacy DFS Portal Login password problems?
Check your spam or junk folder and add [email protected] to your email account as a trusted sender.
- Check the email address you used. Portal will not tell you if you entered the wrong email address. Consider trying other email accounts you may have used in the past.
- Reset your password. If you still haven't received an email, you may want to create a new account.
- Do not use a NY LINX username and password. Make sure you are using your DFS Portal email address and password.
If you still need help with a Portal account, submit a Portal Help Form.
Creating a Portal Account
- If you already have a Portal Account, you do not need to create a new account. Enter your email address and password.
- If you already have access to a DFS application and you need access to a different DFS application, you don't need to create a separate account. Sign in and use the Request Apps tab to ask for the additional application.
- If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot Password button to reset it.
- If you do not have a DFS Portal account, use the Create Account button to create an account.
