Letter of Certification
The Letter of Certification is available via NY LINX. Online Certification is not available to Service Contract Registrants, Life Settlement Providers, or Life Settlement Intermediaries.
To be able to generate a Letter of Certification:
- The home state must be New York. Letters of Certification are eligible to residents only.
- The license must have a valid status.
Instructions
- Log in to NY LINX.
- click on Letter of Certification in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
- Allow a few minutes for the Letter of Certification to generate.
- Print the Certification.
- Close the Certification (click on the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the Certification).
- Select HOME for other available functions or LOGOUT to exit.
DFS ID and NY LINX
You will use DFS ID credentials and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access NY LINX, so be sure to have or download an authenticator app (e.g., Google or Microsoft Authenticator) on a mobile device before signing in.
If you have forgotten your DFS ID password use the ‘Forgot Password?’ link in DFS ID to generate a new one-time-use link. If you did not complete your registration, or no longer have access to an email account, visit DFS ID to learn how to get help with DFS ID.

Browsers and Blockers
- Use a supported browser: The latest version plus one previous of Edge, FF, Chrome and Safari, are supported.
- Disable “Pop-up Blockers” in your browser before using portal applications.
- Application may be unavailable from 7:30am to 7:45am daily for scheduled maintenance.
- Applications may not be compatible with cell phones, tablets or other mobile devices.
