A Mortgage Guarantee (MG) Agent creates contracts that insures a mortgage lender against default risk.
Requirements and Qualifications
Residents require 90-hours of pre-licensing education and a Series 17-60 exam.
- If previously licensed as an MG within the last two years, you do not need to retake the exam.
- If previously licensed as an MG over two years ago, you must retake the exam.
Non-Residents must be currently licensed and in compliance with their declared home state.

- Refer to the Department's Application Fee Schedule to determine the specific fee for any application being filed with the Department.
Renewing a License
- This license does not expire, so no renewal application is required.
- There is no fee for this license, and continuing education is not required.

Check Status/Print License
The Department does not mail paper licenses. Use the Producer/Licensee Search application to determine if a license has been issued and to view the license number. Log in to NY LINX to save and print the license as soon as it is issued.
