Re: Call For Special Report On Pandemic Influenza Preparedness, Pursuant to Section 308
October 28, 2019
The financial sector of the economy in general and insurers in particular are considered part of the nation’s “critical infrastructure”. With the approach of the flu season the Insurance Division of the Department of Financial Services wishes to ascertain the level of pandemic influenza preparedness in the hope that this information will help us to raise the general level of preparedness of our licensees.
To assist us in this endeavor, please complete the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Survey Questionnaire appropriate to your organizational type (Health Insurer or All Other Insurance Division Licensees). A copy of this Section 308 Letter and the survey questionnaires may be found on the Department’s website.
Health Insurers (accident and health insurers, Article 43 corporations, certified Public Health Law Article 44 health maintenance organizations and Municipal Cooperative Health Benefit Plans) are requested to carefully read the filing instructions on the "Instructions" tab, and respond to all questions on the "Health" tab in the "FluQ2019.xls" file. Note: Life Insurance Companies with significant health insurance premium should also complete the "Health" tab.
All Other Insurance Licensees addressed by this Section 308 Letter are asked to please carefully read the filing instructions on the "Instructions" tab, and respond to all questions on the "General" tab in the "FluQ2019.xls" file.
All responses are expected by Friday, November 22, 2019.
Responses should be submitted via the Department’s portal at the above address.
