Step 1 Bulk Filing Directions (Effective April 7, 2021)

General Directions

Each Step 1 bulk filing must contain two parts: (1) the Header and (2) the Detail.

Each individual filing will have one Header entry and two or more Detail entries, depending on the level of detail required.

The Header document will contain high level information for each filing submitted as part of the bulk filing. Each filing will be represented by one line entry in the Header document. However, in the Detail document, each loan may include a number of entries.

All of the Header records in a bulk filing must be combined into one text file. All the corresponding Detail records must be combined into another text file. These two files must be uploaded at the same time.

The level and amount of Detail information required is driven by whether or not the loan is investor owned. Please see the attached flow chart for a visual representation of the information required.

Not Investor Owned:

If loan is NOT investor owned, the Detail record(s) will contain the lien holder information and possibly the agent of lien holder information. If there is more than one lien holder, list each lien holder on a separate Detail line. If there is an agent of lien holder list the agent of lien holder information on a separate Detail line.
