As stated in Section 555 (1) of the Banking Law, “No person except a lending institution or an authorized insurer shall engage in the business of premium finance agency without a license therefor obtained from the superintendent, as provided in this article.”

On May 1st, 2018, the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) transitioned Premium Finance Agencies to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) to manage license applications and ongoing regulation. NMLS was created by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and began operations in January 2008.
New York State residents who are interested in registering to vote may do so online or by completing and submitting a New York State Voter Registration Form to their County Board of Elections.
