Otto and Nelly Scharff

Otto Scharff (b. February 27, 1884 in Landau, Germany), worked in the wholesale grocery business and owned the firm H. Scharff & Sohn GmbH, which had branches in both Landau and Munich.  He was married to Nelly Scharff née Steinhardter (b. May 20, 1887 in Munich) and lived at Wasserburgstrasse 6, Munich from 1931 until 1938 at which time the couple was forced to relocate to the Hotel Continental.  The Scharffs had two daughters, Liselotte and Gertrude, who fled Germany in the early 1930s and 1935 respectively.  On November 20, 1941 the Scharffs were deported to Kaunus, Lithuania, where they perished five days later.
