Circular Letter No. 22 (1976)
WITHDRAWN
TO: ALL INSURERS LICENSED TO WRITE ACCIDENT AND HEALTH INSURANCE IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK
RE: ACCIDENT AND HEALTH RATE APPROVAL -- PREMIUM DIFFERENTIALS BASED ON SEX FOR DISABILITY INCOME INSURANCE
In the "Opinion and Report" issued by the Department in promulgating Regulation 75, this Department committed itself to a study which would determine the propriety of premium rate differentials based on sex for disability income insurance. The Department study was finalized in May, 1976 and an amendment to Regulation 62 implementing the study's findings is presently being prepared.
In view of the delay in the promulgation of this amendment to Regulation 62 and the time needed by the insurers to re-file premium rates after the amendment is promulgated, the temporary approval of all disability income premium rates granted for a period of time which expires prior to June 30, 1977 is hereby extended to June 30, 1977.
