SUBJECT: REIMBURSEMENT RATES FOR HOSPITAL AND HEALTH RELATED SERVICES UNDER NO-FAULT
Subsequent to the distribution by the Insurance Department, on February 15, 1978, of the approved rates of reimbursement for hospital and health related services for use by no-fault insurers, a review and revision of such rates was made by the Commissioner of Health. Revised rates have been recommended and certified by the State Commissioner of Health and approved by the Chairman of the Workers' Compensation Board in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 767 of the Laws of 1977.
A copy of the revised reimbursement rates approved by the Chairman of the Workers' Compensation Board is enclosed and should be substituted for the rates included in the Hospital Fee Schedule previously distributed on February 15, 1978. The substituted rates should be used by no-fault insurers for payment of in-patient services performed on or after January 1, 1978, pursuant to the provisions of Insurance Department Regulation 83.
In addition, special note should be made of the change in rates for out-patient services effective February 16, 1978.
Very truly yours,
