SUBJECT: INSURANCE

Circular Letter NO. 9 (1979)

WITHDRAWN

TO: ALL AUTHORIZED INSURERS, AGENTS, BROKERS, CONSULTANTS, ADJUSTERS, EXCESS LINE BROKERS AND REINSURANCE INTERMEDIARIES

RE: DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS REQUIRED BY DEPARTMENTAL REGULATION 87 (11 NYCRR 29)

Circular Letter No. 1 (1979) issued on January 3, 1979 extended the time period within which disclosure statements relating to business in force as of December 6, 1978 were to be filed with the Insurance Department and the affected local governmental unit to March 6, 1979.

The Insurance Department has received requests for opinions regarding various issues related to insurance coverage of municipalities and the disclosure requirements set forth in the regulation.

The Insurance Department is reviewing the issues raised by the various requests for opinions and therefore it has determined that the time within which all disclosure statements required to be filed should be further extended.

Therefore disclosure statements which were required to be filed by March 6, 1979 and all disclosure statements relating to business with effective dates subsequent to December 6, 1978 are not required to be filed until May 6, 1979.

Insurers are directed to provide their agents and producers with a copy of this circular letter.

Very truly yours,

[SIGNATURE]

ALBERT B. LEWIS

Superintendent of Insurance
