Circular Letter No. 12 (1981)
TO: ALL INSURERS LICENSED TO WRITE PRIVATE PASSENGER AUTOMOBILE AND FIRE OR FIRE AND EXTENDED COVERAGE INSURANCE POLICIES WHO ARE SUBJECT TO THE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF INSURANCE DEPARTMENT REGULATION NO. 90 (11 NYCRR 218) "PROHIBITION OF GEOGRAPHICAL REDLINING."
RE: REPORTS AND DATA SPECIFICATIONS ON AGENTS AND BROKERS
Circular Letter No. 3 (1980), dated February 14, 1980 (copy) attached), contains instructions and data specifications for the reports required by Regulation 90 (11 NYCRR 218).
Your attention is directed to page 2 thereof quoting a portion of Regulation 90 (11 NYCRR 218.7(a)) in relation to maintaining records of agents and brokers and to the balance of the quoted provisions relating to maintenance and filing of reports thereon with the Insurance Department.
Data specifications were furnished in Circular Letter No. 3 (1980) with respect to business written, but the Department did not furnish the format for filing information on agents and brokers.
The following will be acceptable to the Department for filing this information:

For annual periods commencing January 1, 1981 and thereafter, column I should be eliminated and columns II through V should be renumbered as I - IV and appropriately dated, e.g., "No. of Agents and Brokers as of 1/1/81," 1/1/82, etc. Since the foregoing was not previously furnished, the Department hereby extends the time for filing of the Agents" and Brokers" Report to June 1, 1981.
Insurers are reminded that all other information specified in Circular Letter No. 3 (1980) must be furnished by May 1, 1981.
