TO: ALL INSURERS LICENSED TO WRITE PRIVATE PASSENGER AUTOMOBILE, FIRE, OR FIRE AND EXTENDED COVERAGE INSURANCE POLICIES WHICH ARE SUBJECT TO THE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF INSURANCE DEPARTMENT REGULATION NO. 90 (11 NYCRR 218) "PROHIBITION OF GEOGRAPHICAL REDLINING."
RE: REGULATION NO. 90 - REPORT SPECIFICATIONS
The report specifications contained herein supercede those in Circular Letter No. 5 (1982), and should be used in conjunction with items I through IV of Circular Letter No. 8 (1983) in preparing the reports required to be submitted to the Insurance Department.
1. Regulation No. 90 reports due on and after May 1, 1984 are to be submitted in hardcopy in the formats indicated herein.
2. In order to allow insurers to make provisions for the preparation of the required reports, the Department hereby extends the filing deadline, for this year only, until October 1, 1984.
3. The following instructions apply to all required reports:
A. Reports must include: name of insurer; insurer's NAIC code number; and year of information filed.
B. All information must continue to be maintained by U.S. Postal ZIP code, but must be reported on an aggregate county basis.
C. Reports must continue to be accompanied by a statement, signed by an officer of the company, certifying that the information contained in the reports is an accurate, properly-prepared reflection of the insurer's direct writings in New York State for the subject lines of business.
D. Prescribed formats for each of the five (5) required reports is attached hereto.
