RE: CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 1 (1980) AND AMENDMENTS NOS. 1 & 2 MOTOR VEHICLE LIABILITY INSURANCE PREMIUM REDUCTION FOR COMPLETION OF ACCIDENT PREVENTION COURSE PURSUANT TO SECTION 2336 OF THE INSURANCE LAW

It has come to the attention of this Department that many insurers have not updated the list of Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course Sponsors mailed to insureds in accordance with the subject circular letter. The intent of this Circular Letter is that to advise all automobile insurers of the list of Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course Sponsors, recently updated by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The current courses, with the latest changes or additions noted by an asterisk (*), are as follows:

Literature that you furnish to insureds in accordance with Circular Letter No. 1 (1980) as amended should be revised so as to provide the proper names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the organizations sponsoring the five courses described in the latest DMV notification. Companies should consider furnishing revised literature to all newly written insureds no later than February 1, 1987. Such updated literature should also be furnished to all other insureds with the next renewal or billing notice sent to them on or after March 1, 1987.
