MOTOR VEHICLE LIABILITY AND COLLISION INSURANCE PREMIUM REDUCTION FOR COMPLETION OF AN ACCIDENT PREVENTION COURSE PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 2336(a)&(d) OF THE INSURANCE LAW

This is to update the captioned Circular Letter of December 29, 1992, which provided a list of all Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course sponsors approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles. It has come to our attention that a correction must be made to the phone numbers for several of the course sponsors (indicated by **).

In addition to, the foregoing list of Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course sponsors available to the general public, there are a number of in-house courses offered only to the employees of such sponsors. information on these courses is not intended for distribution to the general public, but should be disseminated to the appropriate personnel at the insurer to ensure that credit is given for completion of any of these courses by an insured: meriting the same premium reduction as the publicly available courses. Literature furnished to insureds about these courses should be revised to include these corrections. Companies should furnish such revised literature to all insureds with new or renewal policies as soon as reasonably practicable. Until such revisions can be made, however, you should include a copy of the Department of Motor Vehicles" notice regarding these courses (copy enclosed), which contains the complete phone numbers for the two corrected courses, along with your current literature.
