Transparency
At the start of her new administration, Governor Hochul pledged a new era of greater transparency and accountability. The administration directed heads of New York State agencies, authorities and boards, including this department, to assess and evaluate existing policies and practices and create a plan detailing new efforts to increase transparency and accessibility in our work and operations. Paid Family Leave
The data in the Paid Family Leave (PFL) Report is collected by PFL insurance carriers from the Request for Paid Family Leave (Form PFL-1), which is completed by an employee requesting leave.
Health Care Claims
Insurance Law section 345 requires health insurers and HMOs to submit quarterly and annual reports to the Superintendent on health care claims payment performance for comprehensive health insurance coverage. The reports provide information on claims received, claims paid, and claims denied and their dollar values, by major category of health care provider.
Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity
Insurance Law § 343 requires insurers to submit a biennial Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Report to the Department of Financial Services to help measure compliance with federal and state parity laws for mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
