I am proud to support the Governor and Legislature in advancing a budget that makes New York more affordable. Critically, the budget includes policies to lower the cost of auto insurance, cracking down on fraud and abuse and helping consumers take advantage of available policy discounts. 

This budget also requires insurers to make lists of covered benefits more transparent and accessible and reduces barriers to insurance coverage for people with chronic conditions.  

The Department has already begun implementing these new laws, ensuring access to affordable, quality financial products and delivering meaningful cost savings for the people of New York.
